 CHAPTER TWO


That day, after I came back from the bush, I was feeling a bit strong and when I called them to know how they were faring, I learnt that Cynthia had travelled back to the village. So, it was remaining only the three of them and I promised to visit them someday but Ezeguy wouldn’t let me as he kept pestering on me to tell him everything but I couldn’t because it was a secret. Later on, Sandra brought her car keys to me and said that I should learn how to drive because she wanted me to be her driver and drive her around the school compound for a period of 12 months while she pays me but I said no. that I was there to study. So, she became angry and left but I couldn’t do anything to stop her but Ezeguy ran to her and she slapped him venting her anger on him.


 At once, I knew it was a full-fledged war because two of her friends jumped out from nowhere and started beating Ezeguy. In fact, they pounced at him and made him to define craziness with two suitable examples and on my own part, I couldn’t watch and see them deal with my roommate just like that. So, I ran to the open field where they were and picked up an empty carton. I wanted to hit somebody with it but I couldn’t. So, I dropped it. Picked it up again, rushed to the scene but I couldn’t. by then Ezeguy’s face had swollen. So, I ran inside and cried.


 After two minutes, I came out and motioned them to come together for peace talks which they did and the matter was settled. They left and Ezeguy went inside and freshened up. That evening, we went outside and chilled. Later on, Cynthia called me on phone and said that she heard what had happened. She apologized over her sister’s behavior and commended me for not joining in the fight. I said ok.
